Music Connect

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 29, 2026

Music Connect is a mobile app for musicians, bands, teachers, producers and DJs to find each other, share their work and talk. It is operated by Morteza Saedi, an individual based in California, United States ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Information you give us

Information collected automatically

How we use it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Companies that process data for us

We use a small number of service providers who handle data on our behalf under contract, and only for the purposes above:

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where we believe it is necessary to prevent serious harm.

Other people

Anything you post publicly can be seen, saved or shared by other users. Direct messages are visible to you and the people in the conversation, and are stored on our servers — treat them as private but not encrypted end-to-end.

Sharing out of the app

You can share an event, a gig, a post or a profile out of Music Connect. Doing that creates a link to a public page on this website, and anyone with the link can open it without an account. The page shows what the item is — its title, its date, its city, the photo on it, and the name, handle and picture of whoever posted it. It never shows a street address or a precise location, and it never shows follower, like, comment or view counts. Events, gigs, posts and profiles belonging to users aged 13 to 17 are never shown on these pages at all, and teen accounts have no Share button.

Deleting or hiding something stops its public page working, normally within a minute. It does not reach the copies other services have already made. When a link is sent in a messenger or posted on a social network, that service usually keeps its own copy of the preview — the title, the description and the image — and that copy can stay in the conversation after the page itself has gone. This is true of links in general and it is not something we are able to undo for you, so it is worth treating a link you have sent as sent.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your login, your profile details (including your date of birth, location, social links and settings), your photos and videos (including cover photos and the videos held by Mux), your likes, follows, reactions and saved posts, your notifications and device tokens, and the text of your posts, comments and messages. We keep only: an anonymous, hidden “Deleted account” record with every field cleared; your messages as empty records, so the people you talked to see “Message deleted”; empty, hidden placeholders of your posts, comments, gigs, events and applications, with no text, media or addresses; reports and moderation records involving you for up to 90 days, for safety — including the copy of a reported comment or message we took at the time; anything we are legally required to keep; and copies in our database provider’s backups until they expire. The full list, and how to ask us by email, is on Delete your account.

Your choices

Privacy settings

Alongside “Show me in Discover”, Settings → Privacy holds three more controls. We enforce all of them on our servers, not only in the app, so they hold whatever an app asks for:

California residents

Under the CCPA you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete it, and ask us to correct it. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. Email us to make a request.

Europe and the UK

If you are in the EEA or UK, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of your data, and object to certain processing. We process your data to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in running and securing the service. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Age and younger users

Music Connect is for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and we do not allow them to create accounts. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we delete it and the information with it. If you believe this has happened, email us and we will act quickly.

Users aged 13 to 17

Teen accounts get stronger defaults, which we enforce on our servers, not just in the app:

These are a floor, not a fixed setting. A teen can choose anything stricter — nobody at all for messages, for instance — and in Settings → Privacy the looser options are shown dimmed, with the reason, rather than hidden. We apply the floor on our servers when the account is created and again every time a setting is saved.

Parents and guardians may contact us at any time to review the information we hold about their child, ask us to correct or delete it, or delete the account. We will verify that you are the parent or guardian before acting.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to our systems is restricted, and database rules limit what each account can read and write. No service can promise perfect security, but we take this seriously and will notify you if a breach affects your data.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and our providers store data there. If you use the app from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the US.

Changes

If we make a significant change to this policy we will update the date above and let you know in the app before it takes effect.
